A quick update

I have been super busy with weddings so far this season with my first one starting early in August and I have been really busy with my extremely energetic toddler. But things are starting to settle down with my 8 year stint ending at Pick me flowers so I hope to have a bit more time on my hands to update my blog and spend more time with Vidabela! I promise to spend some time over Christmas sorting through this seasons photos and put them up for you to see after the new year.

I will also be taking a short break from January 2014 until the end of wedding season due to another little one arriving in February (he is very inconvenient coming in the middle on wedding season!) But I will be taking consultations from around May for the following season so be sure to contact me then if you have an up and coming wedding.

Wishing you a safe and happy Christmas!

Gerberas and green carnations

Carnations are not my favourite flowers but I just love this pretty pale green coloured one. Teamed with white and red gerberas they are really quite striking for this
vintage-glamour themed wedding.

Vintage pink wedding bouquets

Soft and fluffy posies of lisianthus, roses and hydrangea.

pastel wedding posies

I love these gorgeous rosy posies made of lisianthus, roses and my favourite peach mini-roses called "spray Jayne". Mini roses add such a daintyness to wedding posies.

Lemon roses

Lemon roses, white roses, white lisianthus, freesias and lambs ear.

Simple table and cake flowers

Sometimes you don't need to spend a lot to have have striking table centres...Choose a nice vase and keep the flowers simple to create an modern but cost effective table arrangement. Cake toppers or sprays can become expensive, you can create something just as effective by placing loose flower heads on all the tiers of a wedding cake. A great way of getting them to sit nicely is by poking them into little blobs of left over fondant icing.

Vintage cupcake stand

I made this cute cupcake stand from vintage plates and crystal glasses...it's great for cupcakes  or sandwiches when your having a pretty afternoon tea. Sometimes I pick the roses from my garden and float them in it to bring the outside in!

Just some of the pretty things I've made in the shop lately ....

Dotcom Mansion

Finally I have got round to posting the photos of the flowers we did for the Dotcom Christmas in Coatesville. Unfortunately my inquisitive toddler had put a big fingerprint on the lens of my camera beforehand and there is a nice big smudge through most of them.... But you get the general idea! I love the big tropical aquarium in the kitchen you can see in the background of some of them... Imagine cooking your dinner with Nemo swimming around you!
