Kokedama hanging gardens

I first discovered (and fell in love with) these rustic 'kokedama hanging gardens' on pinterest but I've also seen them around in stores and on the block so they are becoming quite on trend! They were fun to make but extremely messy! It took me back to the days of making mud pies as a child!
To view the full instructions on how to make one for yourself, see my blog in the stories section at palmersplanet.co.nz

Pastel Champagne

My beautiful friend Greta got married this weekend. Her flowers were stunning and so was she....giant imported vendella roses were made into reconstructed roses for the brides maids and her bouquet had a mix of vendella roses, spray jane mini roses lambs ear and white pieris. Her two beautiful daughters each had a flower fairy wand and the cake was adorned with a smaller reconstructed rose.

Terrarium city

I have been very busy lately making terrarium after terraruim. I love seeing the little worlds come together with the different textured mini plants and bits I have fossicked around for at the beach. It's quite neat to look through the glass and see the layers of sand, soil, gravel, rocks and moss just like it appears underneath us in the real world. You will be seeing a lot more of these from me as I embark on a new project with palmers planet to bring them into their stores. Should you require one of these little cuties for your place or a fabulous living gift for someone special, send me your requirements to my email and I'll get one or two whipped up for you! You can choose your setting from a beachy look to a more desert setting or something a little more modern. (I have some huge acryllic diamonds coming that are going to look ace nestled amongst the plants!) Choose your colour scheme and size/ shape of your vessel and then choose your plants....they could be succulents, cacti or ferns.

My beautiful mini orchid

All my phalaenopsis orchids are in bloom including this cute mini purple one that just popped out the other day! I wedged it in a nest of twigs and poked it through the bars of my birdcage.

Enchanted garden terrarium

I'm loving making terrariums at the moment and this one was super cute for my little fairies bedroom. (See her below as she tries to help!) Succulents, ferns and whimsical creatures complete with a mini bunting! Love! For the DIY instructions check out my post at www.palmersplanet.co.nz

Happy planting! X

Another winter wedding

Winter weddings are usually few and far between but I am finding that I get a few more each year now and I think it is due to the venues being so booked up in Auckland now. One bonus is that the flowers in season in the winter are a little different especially for the whimsical unkempt look that is so popular at the moment. These posies were of freesias, roses, blossom, hypericum berries, succulents, dusty miller, stocks, earlicheer and flowering pieris. If your going for this particular style it's best if you can give a colour palate and leave the rest to the florist. That way they can choose the best blooms in season to create all the different textures for the style.
